Beanie Babies Discussion Message Board Posted by Julie on January 30, 2010 at 16:32:42: I recently found a Peking with his tags in the thrift shop. I knew he is worth something, so I grabbed him and did some research. I found that he has 3rd generation swing tag, and 1st generation tush tag. I started further reading up on Beanies and found that they're faked often. I read tutorials which led me to believe he's the real deal, and then I asked another seller (from ebay) with the same Peking for sale if he could help me and look at my photos to see if he thinks my Peking is real before I list him for sale. The seller wrote back and he said he is not real. He said the tush tag is not right. My question is, is Peking often faked? Am also curious, how can you tell if a beanie is fake? Anyway, here are photos, i'd love if you could take a look. I know I have to have him authenticated before I list him or I'm asking for more trouble. But I'd really like to know if I'm wasting my time with having him authenticated if he's just a fake anyway. http://s907.photobucket.com/albums/ac271/andagainfashion/peking%20panda/ Would love some insight :) thanks so much in advance.
